The widow Sophie von Breymann lives alone and lonely in a villa in Hamburg. Her grandson, who will later be the sole heir, rarely contacts us, especially when he needs money, as he does now. One day Sophie misses her wallet after a walk with her dog. To her great relief, a lady comes shortly afterwards and brings it to her. Sophie invites her into the house for coffee and cake. Both enjoy the art treasures that Sophie and her husband have collected. The next day, however, the new friend doesn't show up for the agreed walk together. Sophie goes home sad. There she is almost struck by a blow: valuable paintings are missing from the apartment. She has a bad suspicion...
